This is a stunningly good Chinese restaurant and takeaway. The food is always of a high standard and tastes bloody lovely. The menu is extensive and well priced. You must note that the portion size is as stated, if you want a meal for 4 it is a meal of 4 and not for more. Good thing is less wastage but does require additional orders to cater for more people which is no bad thing. The restaurant atmosphere is lovely with authentic décor. The staff are very welcoming, polite and willing to assist your culinary needs. 5 out of 5, thank you East the Water ❤️

My brother and I were so impressed with the food here that we went back two evenings later. The staff were very pleasant, good menu and the food was excellent. The prices were also quite reasonable so, if you're in Bideford and fancy a Chinese, it won't be a wasted journey if you pop across the bridge to East The Water, just a short walk from the Royal Hotel. There's not a huge amount of indoor seating though so best to make a reservation.

I love the food here. Easily the best chinese restaurant or takeaway in Bideford. I've tried each of the places in Bideford and found the food and service here vastly superior. If you do give it a go try the chicken cantonese style. Its made using their own special sauce that I've not seen elsewhere so definitely worth a look if you like trying new things. Each time Been and ordered food for takeaway it came out quickly, including when. We had food delivered and it came in under 30 minutes (which was faster than they estimated on the phone). The service in the restaurant was also quick, warm and friendly. The place is well decorated and in good condition. The toilets requires you yo go outside to get to them but they were clean and well maintained. This place is a little more pricey than some in the area but its well worth it for the beautiful food and great service. You wont be disappointed!
